KFC Rain Checks

Apparently, KFC had a lot of problems with counterfeits on the 2-piece chicken meal coupon they just offered, so they're no longer accepting the ones printed from your computer. Instead, you need to get a rain check form from a KFC restaurant and mail it in with your printed coupons in order to receive new valid coupons. More details here.

Recipe of the Week

I've really been trying to make more things from scratch lately instead of buying them prepared. I'm hoping to save money and feed my family things that are a little healthier. This is one recipe I came across and it's just as good if not better than the store-bought version!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

1/2 TBSP chili powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

This recipe makes the equivalent of one taco seasoning packet. I usually make a bigger batch of it and then divide it into one-serving bags.

If you have a great from-scratch recipe to share, I'd be interested to try it!
